Hello dear candidates to MR SL ♛ 2020,
it is time now for the third runway challenge as we are slowly leading up to the Grand Finale. This third runway challenge has been suggested by the management of the L’HOMME Magazine SL,supporting their quest for three guest models they will choose from the MR SL ♛ 2020 finalists. In this runway challenge we are paying tribute to one of the greatest British designers of all time, the late Alexander McQueen. In particular we are looking for his Autumn/Winter 2009 collection for men. The VOGUE magazine wrote about the collection:
“This season, the Alexander McQueen man is exploring his dark side. Menacing models – some of them actually boxers dressed up for the part – took to the catwalk which, dimly lit, could have been a scene straight from a Dickens novel.
Walking sticks, top hats, waistcoats and capes – the look was distinctly 19th century London. Aside, perhaps, from the couple of codpieces (yes, you read right), that featured later and came teamed with a sage parka style jacket and a rich maroon boxy blazer respectively.
Opulent as ever, this had to have been one of McQueen’s most dramatic menswear collections; see the reddened eyes of the make-up, the hair that swept into buns at the side and the bursts of scarlet red.
For this runway challenge you will need to research the collection and the details that make this particular collection special. Of course we have a color requirement for this challenge, too. Please read the details below carefully.
Please let us know, if you have any question. You can use the pageant group chat or the Discord #pageant-chat channel to post your question or leave a direct IM to Rissa Bolissima, Venom Zanzibar or me.
We hope you will enjoy this challenge and are looking forward to see your styling ideas on our runway and to learn about Alexander McQueen!
